HLTAID003 – Provide First Aid
This is an official Workplace Health and Safety certified course and on completion will also fulfill requirements for a PADI Rescue Diver or above certification.

Previously known as: Apply First Aid, Senior First Aid or Level 2 Workplace First Aid
Prerequisites: All students doing nationally recognised training from January 1, 2018 will need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) Number. To create a USI or read more, go to the government USI site here. Please note that all students must have the physical ability to provide resuscitation by kneeling on the floor and performing two minutes of uninterrupted CPR.

This Provide First Aid course expires every 3 years. Integrated within this course, you will also learn and be certified to administer CPR as well, which will expire every 12 months.

We offer variety of first aid courses including the basic nationally recognised – Provide First Aid (HLTAID003).
The Provide First Aid course is the minimum requirement for workplace first aid compliance as it helps trains individuals to understand the basics when helping another individual who requires first aid. Provide First Aid courses give everyone that confidence to care and give it a go.
What you can expect
You will practice basic first aid in the workplace, define the role of a First Aider, and learn the principles of First Aid. This course will work through the DRSABCD system with a series of scenarios. We will cover: calling for help, signs of life, airways, CPR, bleeding and shock, AEDs, common illnesses, hypothermia and hyperthermia, burns, poisoning, deformities, bites and stings, minor ailments and handling casualties.
This HLTAID003 Provide First Aid Course includes the HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Course.
You will receive hands on practice with a CPR mannequin, and practise using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). You will simulate bandaging and role play during an emergency scenario as well as other skills. You’ll get to practice each skill with other participants in a fun relaxed situation where you feel comfortable and confident. While the material taught in this course is serious, it’s taught in a positive, upbeat environment.

WHY SHOULD YOU COMPLETE A FIRST AID COURSE?
Gain the knowledge, skills and confidence from your first aid course to act in an emergency, over time first aid treatments change and our memories fade so keeping up to date with your first aid certificates and refreshing your skills is vital CPR course including AED every 12 months and First Aid course every 3 years. Anyone can learn first aid: no matter what your background or skill level you can learn first aid. First Aid is a skill that should be second nature for all individuals.
Reminder for students
First Aid Course confirmations: We will send out an email and text message the day before your course around 3:30 pm to inform you of the status of the course and its start time.
Parking: Please keep in mind especially if you are on an 11:30 am or later trip that parking can sometimes get very busy. Please give yourself at least 15-20 minutes for parking. We recommend that you park your vehicle in the Sea Life (Underwater World) car park at The Wharf Mooloolaba, 123 Parkyn Parade. You can find a parking map of The Wharf Mooloolaba here.
What to bring: Wear comfortable clothes and closed toe shoes, and bring along a notepad. Please organize your lunches or snacks for the day, there are plenty of options here at The Wharf Mooloolaba for places to eat.
